2013 Murals Project

At our fall picnic on Sunday, October 13, 2013, we celebrated the completion of the Neighborhood Murals Project.

Thanks to a Neighborhood Improvement Grant, we were able to enlist Prospect Hill neighbor-artist Sam Bartlett in summer and fall 2013 to paint murals on the retaining wall at the basketball courts in Building & Trades Park. Sam’s characters and tools of the Trades are fun, cool, and a fine tribute to workers who make our City great.  The murals are up, and just need a coat of sealant to preserve them.  Thanks to the City of Bloomington, Sam and all the volunteers who donated hours of time to outline, paint, and seal the images!  Click on the thumbnails below to see photos of the murals, taken Sept. 24, 2013 (lots of changes since then...)
